First off, credit where credit is due. One of my favorite authors, John Eldredge, posted this a while back. http://blog.ransomedheart.com/john/2011/08/why-i-stopped-blogging-for-months.html. It’s a fantastic read and obviously the source for my blog title today.
In my life right now, I resonate deeply with many of the themes that Eldredge brings up in his note. Namely, the contrasting overabundance of content and lack of Jesus in our daily lives.
The last month for me has been a joyous one. Moving in to our new home, getting settled, and quite simply, not making a lot of plans other than enjoying the sun, garden, river, and the Father. Wonderful, refreshing, and very different from the busy seasons of the past few years.
I’m going to keep this note short. Here is my encouragement or challenge to you: Read the linked blog, find an hour, shut off anything you own that requires electricity, go somewhere quiet, and search for Jesus. I think you’ll find Him and I think you’ll both like the conversation.
